I have been around the block a few times. Meaning I have been living long enough to have learned some things.

One is that we as humankind share some beautiful and remarkable things, regardless of our appearance, gender, color, religious background, or lack thereof.

Traits we share

1. We all want meaningful relationships. It doesn’t mean we don’t have bumps in the road with meaningful relationships, but we weren’t created to be alone.
2. Curiosity is a part of our survival and part of our neurological being.
3. Family—even if a person chooses not to be part of their biological family, they will find another person or family to belong to.
4. Voice. We all desire to be hear to be able to express our uniqueness.
5. Purpose. Everyone is here for a reason. We are not here by accident. If you are here, you were meant to be here regardless of how you got here.

So I said all of that to say that there are some things universally that make us happy.

10 Keys to Happier Living

1. Acceptance – Stop being hard on yourself. Accept the fact that you are not perfect, dust yourself off, and keep moving.
2. Relating -Feeling connected with others makes everyone involved feel more supported and happier.
3. Emotions – Focus on the positives – the benefits are amazing.
4. Direction – “How we feel and think about the future and how we work towards it can make a difference for our happiness in the present.”
5. Meaning – Connecting with someone higher than ourselves – Jehovah, the LORD, God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Need I say more? Amen

These are just some of the keys that can make us happier in 2025 and beyond.
