Proverbs Chapter 12
Verse 18
The words of the reckless pierce like swords,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
The first part of this verse clearly states when we use careless or hurtful words they can cut like a sharp knife.
Let us picture how a sword or sharp knife would feel against the skin. We know it designed to hurt, wound, maim, or kill.
The message Solomon is conveying is that hurtful words are designed to do the same thing hurt, wound, maim, and kill.

Proverbs Chapter 12
Verse 19
A False word continues for only a short time. But true words continue for all time.
Ultimately, false words can only provide temporary solace before reality intervenes. The truth, on the other hand, endures for eternity.

But true words continue for all time.

Verse 22
The Lord hates people who speaks false words. But it gives Him pleasure when people are fair to other people.
It’s important to understand that God strongly disapproves of lies, as they can cause confusion, harm, and even loss of life. On the other hand, God appreciates it when we treat each other with fairness and honor.

But it gives Him pleasure when people are fair to other people.
Proverbs Chapter 12
Verse 23
The prudent keep their knowledge to themselves,
but a fool’s heart blurts out folly.

but a fool’s heart blurts out folly.
Here the prudent which means a person who is careful in their actions or think before they speak or do. They do not pop off at the mouth and just say any and everything that comes to their mind. They think things all the way through.
On the other hand some speak on everything they know and don’t know. In various cultures and societies, the concept of prudence is highly valued. It is often seen as a virtue, embodying wisdom and discernment in decision-making. Individuals who display prudence are often admired for their ability to consider the potential consequences of their actions and to exercise restraint and thoughtfulness in their interactions with others.
In contrast, those who do not demonstrate prudence may be perceived as impulsive or careless in their communication and conduct. This can lead to misunderstandings, conflicts, or even harm to relationships. Recognizing and cultivating prudence can contribute to more harmonious and effective interpersonal interactions, fostering understanding and cooperation among diverse individuals and groups.
