Peace of Wisdom

‘ Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.‘ —

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Reach outside of yourself and help others.

It happens to us all there are just some days that sucks. Some can bounce back relatively quickly, while others may take a bit longer, depending on what they have going on in their lives. Some may need to seek professional help.

This month, we will figure out how to get out of the funk we may find ourselves in. Each week I will have some great tips, quotes for inspiration, and motivation to help you get over that hump.

Yes, sometimes, we may need to set in our mood for a minute, but that does not mean we need to stay there.

What is our inspiration this week?

We are going to delve into the world of helping others.

I can imagine you are thinking, why would I want to help others when I barely feel like helping myself?

I Am Glad You Asked

  • Helping others gives us a sense of purpose.
  • We are not so in our minds rehearsing the negativity over and over.
  • Many times others are less fortunate and genuinely need you.

The Word

Galatians 6:9-10

9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Matthew 5:14-16

14 You are like the light that everybody needs in this world. If people build a city on a hill, then other people can see it easily.

15 Nobody lights a lamp and then puts it under a can. He will put the lamp in a high place. Everybody who is in the house can then see the light from the lamp.

16 You must be sure that you shine like that light. Then everybody will be able to see. People will see all the lovely things that you do. Then, they will say good things about God. He is your Father in heaven.

Proverbs 3:27-28

27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.

28 Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you”— when you already have it with you.

That Bible verse in Galatians 6:9-10 puts it well.
