Overcoming mental madness

Overcoming mental madness leads to peace now and forever. What many don’t realize is that that noise is costing you more than you think. The headaches, the worry, the anxiety. Your mind doesn’t feel exhausted by accident.

The constant noise, pressure, overthinking, scrolling, worrying, and trying to keep up with everything eventually catches up with you. When life becomes too loud internally, peace becomes difficult to recognize.

Many are physically present but not fully engaged or as some say, have mentally checked out.

But God never intended for you to live in constant mental chaos.

Be Still and Know

There is a scripture that tells us to do two things

Be still, and know that I am God.

Psalms 46:10

Stillness is uncomfortable for many people because, in that silence, it reveals what the distraction has been covering up. And some may go for months, days, or even years, staying busy to avoid this.

But stillness is also about direction and clarity, and about gaining understanding of many situations in your life.

This week, make room for quiet –

  1. Before you get out of bed
  2. Before you go to work
  3. Before you start your day

There are numerous opportunities to withdraw and spend a few minutes each day in prayer with God.

Spend a few minutes each day without noise. Put the phone down, Sit with God Pray, open your mind and heart to Him.

Peace will come quietly.

This Week’s Reflection:

What has been taking up most of your mental space lately?

This Week’s Action Step:

Take 5 minutes each day to sit in silence with God before doing anything else.

Choose peace this week.

Grace and Peace!

Breathe deeply. Let go. God’s peace meets us right where we are.
