How to Find Peace When Life’s a Mess
How to Find Peace When Life’s a Mess – what do you do?
Nothing makes sense, and sometimes you may feel like giving up and throwing in the towel. Those moments are real. Life can become overwhelming, exhausting, and emotionally heavy.
But what if you had a plan? Something steady to hold on to during these difficult seasons. Something intentional you could do that would keep you from falling into panic, fear, or a depressive state of mind.
When I have reached my limit or felt completely overwhelmed, these things have helped me pull out of my funk and helped me slowly find peace again.
Stop trying to control everything –
This was a huge one for me. I was the oldest sibling, and it was natural to want to control my surroundings.
But what I quickly realized is that you can not control others. Everyone has their own mind and will, and the best you can do is take care of what you do have control over.
Which should be you and how you treat others.
Take Life One Day At A Time
Sometimes we look at the big picture, which can feel overwhelming. Taking a step back and asking God to get you through one day at a time is more manageable and better for your peace.
Protect Your Surroundings –
Who and what you surround yourself with have a significant impact on your mental health. If there is a lot of negativity around you, it will definitely affect you. This includes not only toxic people but also what you watch on television, what you see on social media, and the music you listen to. If it is negative and does not bring you peace, you may want to rethink what you are exposing yourself to.
When I’ve felt overwhelmed and emotionally exhausted, these practices have helped me calm my mind, reconnect with God, and slowly come out of my funk one step at a time.
