The miracle of the middle cross. We are in the season of celebrating Jesus’ birthday. We do not really know what day He was born, at least I don’t. But I do believe He was born, not only that, but also made flesh for the purpose of saving all from eternal damnation to those who believe in His redemptive work.
Jesus’ Redemptive Work – The Miracle
God’s complete redemptive plan for humankind is best written in the scriptures below.
I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there would have been no need for Christ to die. Galatians 2:21
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. 1 Peter 3:18
When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. John 19:30
These scriptures speak to what Jesus did for humankind. He suffered a traumatic, humiliating death for us so that we could get into God’s grace and experience His mercy.
Which Side of the Cross are you?
Jesus was between two sinners.
39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Luke 23:39-43
The Miracle of the Middle Cross
Which side of the cross do you choose? Do you accept this wonderful gift that Jesus gave us, or reject His gift and face being lost in eternity?
Tomorrow, in this part of the world, we celebrate Christmas, which spiritually marks the birth of Jesus Christ, God wrapped in flesh.
The best gift you can give yourself if you do not know Jesus is accepting His redemptive work on the cross and realizing you cannot do this on your own.
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy, safe New Year!
Happy Birthday, Jesus!
