How to Dodge Politics
How to Dodge Politics and Feel Better? This is how I navigate peace and politics-
Here is my thought process.
People lie.
No one is perfect.
Both sides have both good and bad points.
I never initiate.
Nor do I engage.
If asked a question, my comments are short and sweet.
I never explain myself – my views are my views.
I never try to change someone else’s mind.
I do not allow them to try and change mine.
I do not live for the news, because somewhere in the middle may be the truth or not.
I never take anything at full value.
What Does the World Say?
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
— Martin Luther King Jr.
“The ballot is stronger than the bullet.” — Abraham Lincoln
“True patriotism hates injustice in its own land more than anywhere else.” — Clarence Darrow.
How Do I Dodge Politics and Feel Better?
What Does the Word Say?
But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. Titus 3:9
And to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one. 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, “Why put me to the test, you hypocrites? Show me the coin for the tax.” And they brought him a denarius. And Jesus said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” They said, “Caesar's.” Then he said to them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” Matthew 22:17-21
Peace is a must, even in politics.
