My Birthday —last year
It’s my birthday in a couple of days, and it’s a milestone one.
How am I feeling? Fabulous, blessed, humbled, grateful, and more in love with my Jehovah than ever.
I have been blessed to have many truly excellent relationships. Some I have worked hard to grow and nourish. Some I have put a lot of energy into, only to realize they were not worth holding on to. And eventually had to let them go. Some relationships I have grieved due to loss, either physically, spiritually, or emotionally.
Some relationships I had no business being in, and some relationships I should have tried a little harder to keep.
But here is one thing I have learned, and that has truly set me free. When I was tired of being in emotionally draining relationships and of always trying to please others, I looked up and realized that God’s hands were reaching out to me all the time, telling me to come and have a relationship with Him.
That He would show me how to love not only myself but others truly.
As my relationship with the Father grew, it became easier to love others and to have a healthy relationship with them.
I realized I had been doing it wrong all my life. I was more concerned about my relationships with others and neglected the one true relationship. The foundational relationship that would set the standard for all my other relationships.
There are many scriptures in which the Father speaks about relationships. Here are a few scriptures – the relationship Jesus has with the Father.
And our relationship with Jesus is important – Staying connected with Jesus produces abundant fruit in our life.
And the relationship we are to have with each other.
Yes, it’s my birthday in a couple of days and I may be a bit reflective.
However, I have learned from past mistakes, missteps, and mishaps concerning relationships.
I have much more to share. but I will stop here and enjoy my beautiful blessings.
Thank you for stopping by.
