What was the last thing you searched for online? Why were you looking for it?

I was searching for the word ‘gratitude’ and looking up the many ways we can show our gratitude.

And my search naturally led me to the LORD!

It can be easy to always notice the negative, wrong, and evil in the world and in others. Perhaps because it is so in our face daily.

It is essential to make a conscious effort to seek out the good in our lives daily.

For instance, thanking Him for a good night’s rest, keeping you safe throughout the night, appreciating the wonders of nature, or being grateful for the people who surround you. Some may smile, some may hold the door open for you, or make eye contact to acknowledge your presence.

The Other Day

I was at the post office and needed to get some paperwork together so that the post office could verify something for me. I had to pull up a site on my cell phone, type in a code, and complete several more steps, which was making me frustrated and nervous because a line was beginning to form behind me. Most things are electronic, and I am learning my way around both electronic stuff and technology.

The young lady behind the counter, very kind and gentle, told me, “Ma’am, take your time. You will get it, and when you do, I will be here.” So, I stepped aside, calmed myself down, and was able to retrieve the information. When I was ready, I was able to finish my business at the Post Office.

To some, it may not have been a big deal, but to me it was. I had been struggling with pulling this information up all morning, a line was forming behind me, and my anxiety rose. To have a stranger say that to me in such a kind and patient way, I was appreciative of her.

Even things that we do daily, like cooking, cleaning, and chauffeuring the kids to and from school. There is always something to thank Him for. Having food to cook, having a place to cook it in, having clean and running water, having a place to clean, and being able to get around.

I could go on but you get the picture.

This is a gentle reminder: How to See God’s Best in Everyday Life!
