Have you ever had surgery? What for?

If self-love and self-care were ever necessary, I believe it’s necessary now.

Some of the things all surgeries have in common are that

A team of healthcare professionals is dedicated to your care, including nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiologists.

There are usually preparations to be done before the surgery.

You are going to be put under general or regional anesthesia.

And there is always postoperative recovery.

Some risks come with surgeries. I will insert some Word right here to cover you or a loved one headed for surgery.

I say to myself, ‘Praise the Lord!’
Never forget all the good things that he has done for you!
He forgives all my sins.
He makes me well again when I am ill.

Psalms 103:2-3 (EASY)

But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.

Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)

Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.

Jeremiah 17:14 (NIV)
And thank you, Father, for their complete healing! In Jesus' name, amen!

Having surgery, regardless of the type, always requires some effort on your part, as well as from the staff.

After your procedure it is important to follow instructions for a smooth recovery.

Simple Ways to Stay Positive While Healing.

Some ways to stay positive while recovering.

1. Allow yourself time to heal – rushing to get back to it can only prolong the healing process, or worse, you could have a setback. Ugh! Setbacks are delays. Setbacks prevent progress.

When your doctor gives you your aftercare instructions, it would be to your advantage to follow them.

I used to be guilty of not letting my body heal after an illness.

My reasons back then were: 1. They need me, 2. I can’t afford to, 3. It doesn’t take all of that. 4. The doctors don’t know what they’re talking about.

Sometimes, my setbacks were worse than the first time, and the healing process took longer. If I had allowed the healing to finish the first time, I would have been back on my feet quicker.

2. Select two or three scriptures and write them down before your surgery, then place them in a location where you can easily read or review them. They will minister to your heart and spirit. And saying them out loud does wonders.

3. Surround yourself with positive people

4. Journal: Write it down. The good, bad, and ugly. This is a part of your recovery journey. Once you have fully recovered, you can read your healing journal and realize how much God held your hand and comforted you. Then you will be able to share with others who may be going through the same situation.

5. And don’t forget to thank God for your healing, regardless of how you are feeling. It will get better.

Amen!
