I don't want to answer this question today.
Instead, I would like to share a short story I’ve been working on today. It’s titled,
How to Calm Anxiety Now When Doors Are Shut!
Why does this always happen to me? My mind was whirling on what that sound could be coming from the other side of my door.
Was it a wild animal that got in somehow, or something unholy that was unalive trying to get to me? Either way I was terrified out of my mind.
Why did everyone have to leave this evening? I should have gone with them. But no, I wanted…
What was that!?! I could hear sounds coming from the other side of the closed door.
I closed my eyes, not daring to open them, as I was too terrified to see what would burst in. Or wait, should I open my eyes to at least see what would burst through the door before it consumed me, possessed me, or worse, ate me?
The scratching sound was driving me mad. As it became louder I became more nervous.
I wanted to shout out Go away, leave me alone, stop it! But I was too scared.
What was it?
What did it want?
I tried to open my eyes but they felt glued shut.
I knew screaming would do no good. There was no one home, and we lived in the woods.
Help me! What’s happening to me?
Stop it i wanted to yell
Just stop it!
And then all of a sudden, the scratching and clawing stopped.
Did it go away?
I began to sweat. I hoped it had.
Then…the door begins to crack open inch by inch slowly, I could hear every agonizing groan as the door was slowly opening
And almost simultaneously, i was able to open my eyes and turn my head towards the door towards the ghastly sound
My head turned towards the sound of the door
Dreading, waiting to see what was on the other side.
I opened my eyes fully and looked
WHAT?!?…
I have a question for you, readers. Should I continue, or should I stop here and let your minds fill in the rest?
