Two little words – ‘No Way’

These two words ‘No way’ is a strong statement

No Way

It could be something you heard or was faced with and decided that ‘No way’ this is going to happen to you or to a loved one. Here you are using your voice- to-voice disapproval or you are setting boundaries in your life from something or someone.

Wait! Or ‘No way’ could mean

that you’ve encountered something truly unexpected, leaving you in disbelief as you muttered ‘No way.’ The astonishment you felt upon hearing it completely caught you by surprise, as some revelations can genuinely take us by surprise.

Nope

I like the first example better because this speaks to setting boundaries in your life. This speaks of self-love, self-care, and protecting your peace.

When you are thinking, of telling someone ‘No way’ this is speaking of protection for you and sometimes for them. There are many positive boundaries that you can set.

There are at least 5 boundaries you should consider.

Physical Boundaries – This is how close or far we want people from us. what we are comfortable physically from others from a simple touch, handshake or sexual contact.

Time Boundaries – This is setting a healthy schedule for ourselves. This is about balancing our time! Not too much work and not too much downtime.

Conversation Boundaries – This deals with what topics you are comfortable with sharing from politics, religion, sex, if you desire a family or not. You decide what is comfortable for you. With some you may feel comfortable talking about your family with your co-workers not so.

Relationship Boundaries – This covers all the different types of relationships in your life. Including your spouse, partner, parents, children, siblings, coworkers, and friends. And each will have their own set of rules.

Even our children and grandchildren should start learning to set boundaries.

One boundary should be – not allowing other children to hit them or bully them.

Personal Boundaries – These boundaries are essential for nurturing our ability to practice self-care and to love ourselves wholeheartedly.

So, what am I saying?

Learning to say ‘No way’ is an important step towards earning the respect of others and nurturing a healthy self-respect for yourself.

It is a win-win on all sides.
