Proverbs Chapter 14 verse 10

At first glance –

You would think this scripture says you are by yourself when you are sad and happy. There is no one there to comfort you in your time of need. However, we know that cannot be because the scriptures show us in –

2 Corinthians Chapter 1

Verse 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,

Verse 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Here, God is telling us He is compassionate and comforts us in our troubles; not only that, but he shows us that we need to comfort those who are hurting.

So, digging deeper, I realize that in reality, we know our hurts and happiness, pains and joys, we bring our uniqueness to the situation based on our background, experiences, and other things.

You may share some good or bad news with loved ones, and they are there to rejoice or comfort you for a time. In reality, only you know how truly deep the hurt or joy goes.

And this is where your relationship with God should kick in. Because I guarantee you that when you stay connected to God, he will guide you, through your pains and joys to come out victorious on the other side. Not to mention stronger with a deeper love and understanding of Him.

Proverbs Chapter 14 verse 11

The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.

How to Identify a Toxic Home Environment and your Heart.

The key words are House and Tent.

When you think and see the structure of a house compared to a tent.

If you are considering safety, you immediately think the house would be the safest. And if a tropical storm, tornado, or the like would happen, I would bet the house would be the safest.

But this scripture speaks of the storms of life inside the home where the people dwell wickedly, corruptly, sinfully, and wrongfully.

A toxic home environment – breeds dysfunction on many levels. Any tent that has the love of God dwelling in it is more vital than any house that is filled with corruption.

How to Identify a Toxic Home Environment and your Heart.

Some traits of a toxic home life

• Substance Abuse
• No Boundaries
• Abuse – Physical, Emotional, Physical, Sexually, and Mental.
• You may be feeling alone and isolated.
• And there is no one you can depend on in that household.

If you can identify with this, whether you are living it now or grew up in a toxic environment, I am sorry.

That was not fair, and you did not deserve it.

No, I do not have to know you to know that God always wants what is best for His children.

Summing It Up

Stay connected with God through prayer, reading His word, reading post and blogs like these and starting a gratitude journal. Having that connection with Him will help you through your good and bad times even if you are living in a toxic environment.

When the situation seems hopeless – remember God can make a way out of no way.
