What I Understand Now…

After some secrets are revealed to you there may be a time for grieving for what you thought your reality was. Do it unless a person has walked in your shoes they would not understand. It will be important to get help and surround yourself with people who love and are supportive of you.

It’s completely normal to experience a range of emotions when faced with unexpected revelations. The process of coming to terms with new information can be challenging, but it’s crucial to allow yourself the space to grieve for the perception of reality that has been altered. It’s often said that unless someone has encountered similar circumstances, they may struggle to comprehend the depth of your experience. This highlights the significance of seeking understanding and empathy from those who have your best interests at heart.

As you navigate through this period of adjustment, reaching out for support can be immensely beneficial. Surrounding yourself with individuals who offer love and unwavering support can provide the comfort and reassurance needed to move forward. Remember, it’s okay to lean on others during this time, and seeking help from trusted sources can aid in the healing process.

Embracing the intricacies of human experiences, especially during times of change, highlights how taking care of yourself and finding comfort in a supportive community are crucial.

Summing- up

The only person I can control is Me –

My mother was an adult with the right to make decisions.  It was her body.

I had to decide to make peace with her decision so that I could move on.

I had to remember the good my mother did and the joy she brought me and others.

I have not lost my mother and sorry for loss. But I understand in how you felt when you found out that she was keeping a secret from. Now that I am my mother’s only living child I would hope that she wouldn’t do that to me but with this it might help me to understand better as to why she did. Thank you for sharing

Hi johna, that is a good question, I have often wondered. The only two things I could come up with were first, I believe my mother was depressed when her mother passed away a few years prior. Their relationship was complicated. I am going to do a piece called my mother’s mother later. And my mother’s nature was secretive. The best you can do is keep the lines of communication between you and your mother open. But remember, ultimately, love your precious mother while she is here. And whatever decision she makes will be hers to make. I hope this helps. Grace and peace.

This hit home for me. Lost my Mom in March 2020 to Cancer and my mother never said a word. I found out about the cancer because she kept complaining about leg pain so I took her to the ER. She passed away 45 days later. She never told me why she didn’t tells and I guess we’ll never know so this is my daily struggle because I never got an answer for my “Why?”

Hi Brenda, I am sorry to hear about your mother. I will not pretend and tell you that it is easy when our mothers decide to make that choice. I will pray that you will begin to experience God’s inner peace in this situation as each day goes by.
