How to Make Progress

How to Make Progress

I can remember several times I have felt stuck in my lifetime. Everyone around me seem to be moving with purpose in their careers, families, and personal goals. But I felt I was standing still. I was busy but my time was taken up with helping others achieve their dreams and goals.

Now don’t get me wrong I don’t regret doing any of it.

But as the saying goes I can chew gum and walk at the same time. I could still help them and walk in my purpose. I knew that God had something for me to do.

Have you ever felt as though everyone else is moving forward while your life remains at a standstill? Whether you are struggling with your career, relationships, personal growth, or self-care, feeling stuck can leave you frustrated and uncertain about what comes next.

The good news is that I realized that feeling stuck does not mean I had failed.

Sometimes it is an invitation to pause, reflect, and consider a new direction. A pivot does not always require a major life change. It may begin with a new habit, a difficult conversation, a healthy boundary, or the courage to pursue something different.

As you seek God’s guidance, remember that (Proverbs 3:5–6 NLT) encourages you to trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him in your decisions. You do not have to understand every detail of your future before taking your next step. You can pray, seek wisdom, and move forward with faith.

Stop comparing your progress to someone else’s journey.

Give yourself permission to grow, learn, and begin again. You may not be able to change everything today, but you can choose one small action that moves you closer to the life you want to build. When it is time to pivot, let faith guide your steps, let peace steady your heart, and let purpose encourage you to keep moving.

Reflection question: What is one area of your life where you need to make a change, and what is one step you can take this week?

Less worry, more peace—one step at a time.
