When Life Feels Overwhelming
When Life Feels Overwhelming
How to Protect Your Mind When Life Feels Overwhelming Part 1
Sometimes we don’t realize how much we are carrying until our minds finally become exhausted.
We’re thinking about tomorrow while trying to handle today. We’re worrying about our families, replaying conversations, managing responsibilities, responding to messages, making appointments, solving problems, and trying to keep everything together.
And then we wonder why we’re tired.
Maybe your mind doesn’t need another thing added to it. Maybe it needs something removed.
Here are some tips to help
A Daily Mental Decluttering Question
Before you end each day, ask yourself:
“What am I carrying that I need to give to God?”
Then name it.
Don’t just say, “I’m worried.”
Say, “Lord, I’m worried about my finances.”
“Lord, I’m worried about my family.”
“Lord, I’m worried about tomorrow.”
Be specific.
God already knows what is troubling you. Prayer gives you an opportunity to stop carrying it alone.
Make room in your mind for what matters most.
When you constantly fill your mind with worry, there is little room left for peace. But when you intentionally release what you cannot control and turn your thoughts toward God, you create space to hear, trust, and follow His direction.
You may not be able to quiet the entire world.
But with God’s help, you can learn to quiet the world within you.
God invites us to bring our burdens to Him. We don’t have to figure everything out before we pray and we don’t have to have the perfect words.
Today, ask yourself:
What am I carrying that God never asked me to carry?
Then give it to Him.
Protecting your mind isn’t about escaping life. It’s about learning to live in the middle of life’s demands without allowing those demands to consume you.
There is still peace available—even in a noisy world.
Grace and peace.
