For me there are several parts to spirituality.
1. It involves a higher connection with someone greater than yourself. (Much Greater)
2. Spirituality is a person’s ultimate meaning and purpose in life.
3. It also involves personal and spiritual growth.
What spirituality is not to me
1. Spirituality is not something you shove in someone’s face – you don’t use it as a weapon to claim you are better than someone.
2. Spirituality isn’t a religion. It isn’t a set of rigid artificial rules you have to follow.
3. Spirituality is a personal journey. God communicates with us in various ways, and we all have responsibilities to fulfill.
How important is my spirituality?
It is my life.
I believe in God and that Jesus Christ died for me,
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Roman 10:9
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Roman 10:10
and I take full advantage of the Holy Spirit as my teacher here on earth.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” John 14:26
I also know I have a purpose bigger than myself
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
Great are your purposes and mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to the ways of all mankind; you reward each person according to their conduct and as their deeds deserve. Jeremiah 32:19
The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out. Proverbs 20:5
And that is what spirituality means to me.
