I believe I have answered the food question several different ways. But because I enjoy eating I do not mind talking about food.
Many foods evoke fond childhood memories.
As a child, food was seen as a time to celebrate or a time to sit around the table with family and share the day.
I was never hungry as a child. Our parents made sure we were well taken care of. God bless them for that. They work hard to provide for our basic needs, including food, shelter, clothing, and transportation.
So, for this daily writing prompt, I will focus on two Holiday eating settings, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners were the same: Turkey and Ham with all the trimmings.
Mom would make Turkey, glazed ham, dressing, carrots, greens, potato salad, candied yams, macaroni and cheese, buttered rolls, and desserts. As I got older, I became her helper. My favorite dessert was white cake with her homemade frosting. The frosting required only three ingredients and was delicious.
I would eat the same four things: glazed ham, greens, rolls, and cake. That was it. When I went back for seconds, I would have the same four things. And when I had leftovers the next day, it would be the same four food items.
Lol. Thankfully, I have evolved since then and have expanded my taste buds on the holidays.

Here are some beautiful quotes on childhood
“Happiness was different in childhood. It was so much then a matter simply of accumulation, of taking things—new experiences, new emotions—and applying them like so many polished tiles to what would someday be the marvelously finished pavilion of the self”. –John Banville
“In childhood and adolescence, they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood, this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” –C.S. Lewis
