SHE HAS TENACITY –
Her name was Mrs. Decker.
She was my fifth grade teacher
She asked a question and I remembered all the students including her said one answer – I was the only one that did not agree with them. I can not remember the question but I do remember thinking their answer did not feel right.
Mrs. Decker returned the next day (after doing some research, I am sure) and said that I was the only correct one.
Years later she ran into my mother told her the story and said I loved that about her because she did not care what any of us said – we could not convince her to change her mind.
The Lesson
Sometimes, the most profound lesson comes from trusting your instincts, even when it feels like the world is pushing you in a different direction. I’ve come to realize that standing firm in your beliefs can be incredibly challenging, particularly when others express doubt or disagreement. However, it’s essential to honor that inner voice that guides you, as it’s often rooted in a sense of truth that deserves to be acknowledged.
Grace and peace,
