What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?

How to stop worrying about things I can’t control

There are several ways I deal with negative emotions.

Crying can be used at least two different ways

  1. You are crying because you are hurt mentally or physically by someone or something.
  2. Or you are crying because you are using the tears as a manipulative tool to get what you want.

When I was younger my main go to was to cry. Or I would just shut down and pout.

Now thankfully I handle my negative emotions a bit better or at least I would like to think so.

My first go to is to pause and step back from the situation. I do not go off my knee jerk reaction because when I do I usually have to apologize for my actions later.

I find that when I pause and relfex the outcome to many of my situations works out much better.
