Name the worry. Instead of writing, “Everything is going wrong,” ask yourself, “What specifically am I worried about?
Separate facts from fears. Write down what you know to be true and then identify what you are assuming or imagining.
Break the problem into pieces. Ask, “What is the biggest concern here?” Then work through one concern at a time.
Write what you can control. Make a list of what you can do today and what you need to leave in God’s hands.
Turn your worries into prayers. After writing down a concern, write a simple prayer asking God for wisdom, peace, strength, or direction.
You don’t have to have all the answers before you begin writing.
Start with what you know. Tell God what hurts, what scares you, what confuses you, and what you need. Then leave room for Him to meet you there. A journal can become more than a notebook; it can become a place where you process your thoughts, record your prayers, recognize God’s faithfulness, and remind yourself that you don’t have to carry every burden alone.
Grace and peace!
